Sometimes I ask myself, why does Canada have significantly better air quality than China? The Chinese government has many more green initiatives put in place to reduce carbon emissions. How did they let it get so far gone? Well, it all comes back to priorities. The Chinese government prioritized manufacturing with little to none standards for quite some time. The priority was money. Now China has changed some of their prioities. I would like to argue this change was not necessarily by choice, but instead was brought upon by fear. Currently in China you can only drive your gas powered vehicles on certain days of the week to reduce carbon emissions. Where would we be now if the climate was a top priority from the start?
